Disclaimer FOR CONSULTATION
GENERAL TERMS APPLICABLE TO ALL SERVICES PROVIDED BY ALLISON LATONA, MFT AND ALLISONLATONA.COM.
The views and advice offered in consultation are educated opinions based on Allison LaTona’s training as a Marriage and Family Therapist, research in the field, her own parenting experience, and many years of observing and coaching parents and kids.
You agree that parenting consultation by video, phone, in-person or otherwise is not a substitute for professional advice, such as that offered in a therapist/patient relationship. In this context, Allison LaTona’s opinions are offered in good faith, but do not and cannot constitute a therapist/patient relationship, nor are they intended to do so without an agreement, which includes an Informed Consent signed by the party seeking the therapist’s services. Here, such an agreement is not entered into, formally or informally, because Allison is offering consultation, and not therapy. Therefore, there is no therapist/patient relationship.
However, it is important to note, as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I am legally and ethically obligated to report any information I receive that raises concern for me that child abuse may be occurring. Please be forewarned that in such a case, your disclosure or email to me will not be considered confidential and must be shared to the authorities. Also refer to the general disclaimer for more limitations to confidentiality.
Furthermore, you agree that any decisions you make, and the consequences thereof, are your own. Under no circumstances can you hold Allison LaTona, MFT liable for any actions that you take. You promise not to hold Allison LaTona, MFT liable for any loss or cost incurred by you, or any person related or associated with you, as a result of discussion or consultation offered by Allison LaTona, MFT. You agree to indemnify Allison LaTona, MFT in the event of any claim against you, based on anything you may have implemented, including but not limited to any claims against Allison LaTona, MFT, herself, by any person, whether or not related or associated with you.
